HostingCon 2010 Wrap Up

As HostingCon wraps up in Austin (it will be in San Diego next year by the way) here is one final post from the show floor. Danny Sikorski, Senior Account Representative for BandCon (now Highwinds) had a chance to meet with many of his customers at the show. He got together with Steadfast Networks president, Karl Zimmerman who shared his thoughts about Highwinds acquiring BandCon. “Doubling the size of the network is certainly a good thing,” said Zimmerman. “Once the integration of the two networks is completed this will benefit us as well. I think it’s all very positive.”
Well, it’s time to pack up the booth and say goodbye to a lot of new friends. Thanks to the people of Austin for being great hosts and to everyone who helped put on the show this year. See you in San Diego in 2011!
Day 2 HostingCon 2010 Austin, Texas

BandCon’s Danny Sikorski along with Highwinds Jay Moore at HostingCon 2010 Austin, Texas.
The first trade show the companies have attended together since the announcement that Highwinds acquired BandCon. “This has been a great event for us. Hundreds of companies are represented here, mostly offering hosting or complementary products, and nearly all of them have network infrastructure needs that we can provide. In addition to a great conference, Austin is the perfect place for networking events with plenty of live music and outstanding BBQ and Tex Mex. It’s been a blast.” Said Jay Moore, Director of Marketing for Highwinds.

A Note from Ari about BandCon joining Highwinds
BandCon has joined forces with Highwinds, a leader in content delivery, network and IP services. BandCon will continue to offer the Content Delivery System and all BandCon services. The combined company will offer a broader set of products, twice the network size and more than 70 POPs worldwide.
If you are a current BandCon customer, nothing about your service will change. There is nothing you need to do differently. The professional service, all contact and billing information, and the sales and support processes you are used to all remain the same.
I am staying on in the new role of chief revenue officer for the combined company which will continue to operate from our offices in Costa Mesa, California and Phoenix, Arizona, as well as Highwinds’ headquarters in Winter Park, Florida.
We value the confidence you place in us every day and we thank you for your business. The entire BandCon team looks forward to being of service to you in the months and years to come.
Best regards,
Ari Benowitz

Outside The Office With Brian Marks
Internet Rock Star
About Brian
Brian Marks has been in love with music for over 15 years, he is a skilled singer, guitarist, drummer, keyboardist, bassist and of course an ukuleleist. Brian started his music career wanting to be a famous rock star. He pursued this heavily until his 30’s, when he was introduced to the internet. At that time he decided to become a ‘internet rock star’ and thankfully for us he is our resident Sales Engineer and CDN expert.
In his spare time
Transitioning from ‘rock star’ to BandCon’s CDN Expert he now plays for fun and money! He has stayed with his passion for music because he loves entertaining and creating music. His love has afforded him many experiences throughout his lifetime, enabling him to have bands in Vancouver, Dallas, California, Hawaii and most notably the change to make music for 2 years in Sydney, Australia. Most recently his band The Essentials opened for Duran Duran at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in front of 15,000 people!
To sum it all up
When Brian is not traveling the globe making music and improving BandCon’s internet space he plays in a local band hitting up all the local haunts. Come on out to support Brian at his next gig. To learn more http://theessentialsband.com/
